It can travel up to 25 mph on city streets with a posted speed limit of 35 mph. The Lido complies with all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for Low Speed Vehicles, including: 40 mile range, for more drive time around town 6-8 hour recharge time- plug it in at night and its charged up by morning Advanced DC motor with rear wheel drive for greater torque Rack and pinion steering for better automotive handling 13-inch wheels and tires for a comfortable ride Hydraulic brakes, to ensure precise response Automotive lighting (head, tail and brake lights) for increased visibility 3-point anchored front seat restraints / reap lap belts for extra security Automotive glass for safety and clarity Dual rear view mirrors Available in three styles: 2-passenger, 4-passenger and Runabout Utility Lee Iacocca and his new Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV), The Lido, will join the 37th Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade on Sunday, November 4 s Honorary Chairman and Diamond Sponsor. "We are excited to have Lee Iacocca and Lido Motors join the parade," said Jim Larsh, chairman of Parade Charities, Inc. "It was a pleasure to be able to name him the first ever-honorary chairman." "Alternative energy's time has come," said Iacocca. "The Lido is a pre-curser for what's to come as a second car. I predict that within another five to ten years, we'll have cars using pure electric fuel cells." The Lido by Lee Iacocca is a street and golf course legal, low-speed personal vehicle designed for short commutes that can travel up to 25 miles per hour. The four-person luxury electric cars, manufactured in the Coachella Valley, will be introduced at the parade. Introducing the car in Palm Desert is a perfect match. Nearly a dozen years ago, Palm Desert became the first in the nation to legalize golf carts on selected city streets. The pilot program was created as a convenience for residents and to encourage environmentally safe transportation alternatives. Economically, the program has attracted even more golf tourism. As honorary chairman, Mr. Iacocca will have a lead position in the parade and will present the Sweepstakes Trophy to the winning entry at the conclusion of the parade. He also will be an honored guest at the Saturday evening, November 3, Street Dance at Larkspur and El Paseo. The Lido models will be in the parade as well as on display at the Saturday evening event. |
